The association La M.A.SCH.E.R.A. di Schignano was born on 20 May 2010 with the intention of bringing together all the people who share the passion for the art of carving masks and the passion for every form of art, culture and research related to the mask itself, to the costumes, to the characters of the historical carnival and the history and culture of both the Carnival and the country itself. MASK. means Mascherai SCHignanesi Artists and Associated Research Estimators, an acronym that best summarizes the culture and passion for wood carving and local folklore traditions.
